Digital Video Tools:

Anyone remember the Sony Digital DV Drive (Mini DV) Model No: MA-50250 which fit into a 5.25" Drive Bay? The Digital Mini-DV Drive was apparently manufactured by Sony as an OEM Product for FAST Multimedia. Since FAST Multimedia is now owned by Pinnacle Systems, this "Digital Mini-DV Drive" has since past into obsolescence. Oh sure, we all want one but, neither Sony nor Pinnacle Systems will have anything so say about it! It was advertised by B&H Photo Video Pro Audio and CameraWorld.com. We found Roy Tucker @ www.VideoTrax.org to have the most to say about this device while researching it ourselves last year - Return to the Posts Page. No we have not spoken to him personally since this seems to be the end of that product for now.

Digital Video is still very much in demand in case anyone's interested! And there are several ways to accomplish this task. We will over time address a few of these ways to determine what works best for a given situation. Digital Video is much more than a 1394 FireWire card and video editing software!

    Warning: Avoid Evergreen 1394 FireWire/USB combo products. They may conflict with your Promise ATA/100 Controller Bios Version & Maxtor 40 Gig ATA/100 HD's!!!

    HD's on Promise ATA Controllers may not configure correctly due to what appears to be Evergreen 1394 FireWire device enumeration conflict in M/B Bios.
