64 bit PCI vs 32 bit PCI Slots...

PCI Local Bus Speed - Operating @ 33 MHz or 66 MHz. By doubling the operating PCI clock to 66 MHz, the bandwidth of the PCI bus is also doubled from 132 MB/sec to 264 MB/sec.

Intel: 82806AA 64-bit PCI Controller Hub (P64H) supports the 64-bit PCI slots at speeds of either 33 MHz or 66 MHz. The P64H takes advantage of the Intel Hub Architecture, connecting directly to the MCH (Memory Controller Hub) and providing a dedicated path for high performance I/O.

AMD-760™ MPX Chipset

The following features are provided:
  1. Two-way multiprocessor system design supporting AMD Athlon MP processors.
  2. A 266-MHz Athlon system bus, offering data transfer rates of up to 2.1 GB/s.
  3. A 266-MHz (PC2100) Double Data Rate (DDR) Memory Interface.
  4. AGP-4X interface.
  5. Primary 66-MHz, 64-bit/32-bit PCI bus interface.
  6. Secondary 33-MHz, 32-bit PCI bus interface.
    1. Both 1394b (FireWire 800 Multimedia Bus) and Gigabit Ethernet require bandwidth that exceeds PCI’s current shared 133MB/sec maximum bandwidth. See: PCI Express & Transfer Rate Specs.
  7. AC'97 Audio Interface.
  8. EIDE storage interface supporting ATA-33, ATA-66, and ATA-100 modes.

32-bit PCI Slots:

Read your Manual. According to Gigabyte GA-7VRXP pdf file:

www.Giga-Byte.com - GA-7VRXP with (ATA RAID).

Slots -

  • 5 PCI slots supports [32-bit] 33 MHz & PCI 2.2 compliant.

On-Board IDE -

  • 2 IDE controllers provides IDE HDD/CD-ROM (IDE1, IDE2) with PIO, Bus Master (Ultra DMA33/ATA66/ATA100/ATA133) operation modes.
  • IDE3 and IDE4 Compatible with RAID, Ultra ATA133/100, EIDE

We currently use this M/B in our PC Build Specs.

64-bit PCI Slots:

What you're looking for is a Server Motherboard with 64-bit 66MHz PCI Slots -
Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW...

GA-7DPXDW: If this link fails to work, drill down.

Slots -

  • Primary PCI 2.2 Compliant 66MHz / 64 bit PCI Bus
  • Secondary PCI 2.2 Compliant 33MHz / 32 bit PCI Bus

    2 64 bit / 66 MHz PCI slot + 3 32 bit / 33MHz PCI slot

On-Board IDE -

  • 2 IDE bus master (ATA66/100) IDE ports for up to 4 ATAPI devices.

Trade offs, either way. For now, you have the better deal for the money with 33 MHz / 32-bit PCI Slots. Now you know. Knowledge is power! Hope pointing this out helps a little. Enjoy!
