- From Clifford Carley - Weather sites (6-7-2017)
"Some members have been peeking over my shoulder when interesting weather is happening outside and asking about the weather sites I frequent, so I promised to pass along some of them to you for dissemination.
The most useful of these is the Interactive Texas Radar Map generated by the non-profit corad.org, short for Corsicana Radar. By clicking on the links under the map, or, better, by hovering over the map and clicking on the desired highlighted area, raw radar from specific regions of the state can be viewed.
The best big-picture radar is the looping National Mosaic generated by the National Weather Service. Fronts and the rotating lows that drive them can be easily tracked over short time scales.
I also watch the Texas Drought Monitor, calculated on Tuesdays by the educational US Drought Monitor, then published on Thursdays."
